BIOL 1216 - Human Physiology |
(3 credits) 3 hours lecture, 3 hours lab This course describes how the systems of the human body perform their functions. Topics include physiology of the nervous system, hormonal control mechanisms, muscle physiology, body defence mechanisms and physiology of the reproductive, circulatory, respiratory, urinary and digestive system. Labs are designed to let the student discover and gain an appreciation of how his/her body functions. Prerequisite: Biology 30 or equivalent. Note: Only one of BIOL 1216 or PHYL 2514 can be used to satisfy the graduation requirements in the Bachelor of Health and Physical Education program.
